Journeyman Electrician 

Responsibilities:
Perform corrective maintenance on power plant electrical equipment and wiring. Inspect, maintain, and repair, electrical control equipment, outlets, and panels. Keep electrical maintenance records. Repair, inspect, install, remove, and maintain equipment such as breakers, switchgear, cabling, power feeds, motors, and auxiliary electrical equipment. Provide support to other crafts and vendors including installations of temporary lighting, removal of piping and cables. Perform routine and emergency repairs of plant equipment. Maintain job site in a safe manner. Coordinate work activities with other crafts or contractors. Maintain place keeping in a work order and ensure that all step(s) have been completed per procedure.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a 4-year Apprenticeship is desired.
 
EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years (including apprenticeship) of industrial electric maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related power plant equipment including inspection and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics is required. Minimum of 2 years nuclear plant experience in outages, outage support, electrical maintenance, or modifications is required.
 
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships. Ability to use basic math and formulas. Ability to follow, interpret and act on written and verbal job instructions, reports, technical manuals, and data. Must be knowledgeable of power plant electrical systems and be able to perform safely and correctly switching to clear circuits for equipment maintenance. Ability to apply principles of steam and electric plant operations to decision making. Ability to operate such test equipment as voltmeters, meggers, amp-meters. Ability to work around high voltage and large rotating equipment. Ability to logically plan, organize and perform work assignments. Must be proficient in lugging, and cable terminations.
