QA/QC Manager
Williams Industrial Services Group, LLC.

 
Summary: This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing quality systems and quality assurance (QA) designed to ensure adherence with regulatory requirements (e.g., 10CFR50, Appendix B, ASME/NQA-1), customer specifications and contractual agreement.

Essential Functions:
  • Implement the Quality program (s) and procedures to assure the application and compliance of all work processes and services related to production, management, and inspection processes.
  • Implement an NQA-1 manual that will encompass specialty services.
  • Apply for and follow through on all code stamps to include NR, NPT, and NA along with the R, S, and U stamps currently in house.
  • Assist in validating all procedures and combining them into a more streamlined quality program.
  • Implementing best practices in the industry for checks and balances.
  • Assist in cost analysis for acquiring new stamps needed to perform NR, NPT, and NA stamps.
  • Assist in auditing material and consumable suppliers to add to the current quality control manual
  • Assist the Quality Director in developing an orientation program to ensure that the project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Quality Plan and assist in the development of site and customer applicable quality programs.
  • Interface with customer and vendors in order to coordinate activities related to improving and stabilizing production, minimizing scheduling and equipment issues and provide prompt resolutions to quality problems.
  • Assess the ability of the suppliers to meet the quality requirements of the project and manage incoming goods to ensure appropriate materials and equipment is supplied; implement project Quality activities.
  • Perform field assessments, and/or surveillance activities in accordance with the project Quality requirements; monitor project engineering, procurements, construction, testing, operations and other activities related to the Quality plan. Identify quality issues; initiate, recommend and provide solutions; coordinate subcontracted non-destructive testing services.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of Quality records for all phases of the project, including reviewing and monitoring of reports.
  • Review and approve project plans and procedures, coordinate procedural reviews and reports, support Quality Director and operate the program as director when necessary.
  • Develop the pricing or cost related to quality needs for the bid proposals.
  • Establish the Quality requirements/programs for jobs awarded and assist in developing project quality plans.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to meet applicable ANSI and customer requirements.

Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and their application to engineering, procurement, construction, testing and/or operations
  • Demonstrate skill and knowledge of Quality codes, standards and NRC Regulations. (ASME, ANSI, ISO, IOCFR)
  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures
  • Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and database applications
  • Current holder of CWI ( Certified welding inspection)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to type on a keyboard
  • Ability to converse over a telephone
  • Ability to physically climb stairs, balance on scaffolding, access small, confined spaces and work in excessive heat and/or cold environments due to site visits
  • Must have a visual acuity of Near Side 20/20 using a Jaeger #1 and a Far Side of 20/20 either corrected or uncorrected in at least one eye
  • Ability to travel

Education: Bachelor' s degree (engineering preferred) or the equivalent using a combination of experience and education at the discretion of management. A minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear arena, with at least 5 years of this experience in the nuclear industry developing, implementing, or managing quality assurance programs.

Experience:
  • Commercial and Nuclear Quality Assurance Program codes, standards and regulations
  • Supervisory with direction to project quality managers, quality control inspectors
  • Experience in either commercial nuclear industry (Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)? regulated facilities) or Department of Energy (DOE)? regulated facilities.
  • Performing and evaluating ASME/ANSI examinations, inspections, and tests.
  • Lead Auditor qualifications per NQA-1.
  • Commercial Grade Dedication

Special Requirements:
  • Must be able to be badged at U.S. commercial nuclear power plants
